The 2013 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Charmoix, which Etienne told me was being matured in 20% new oak and the remainder 3-year old, has a light raspberry and undergrowth-tinged bouquet. The palate has a crisp, brittle entry with chalky tannins. There is a brightness about this Nuits Saint Georges, a little masculine with a touch of spice toward the red cherry finish. Fine, if missing just a little delineation compared to Grivot's other crus.
