The 2009 Nuits St. Georges Les Charmois flows across the palate with sweet red cherries, flowers and hard candy. It possesses striking inner perfume and a soft, sensual personality, all supported by silky tannins. I find lovely silkiness and delineation on the finish. The Charmois is pretty approachable today and should drink well for a number of years. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019.
Etienne Grivot’s 2009s were some of the most exciting wines I tasted on my most recent trip to Burgundy.
