The deep ruby/purple-colored 2001 Crozes-Hermitage exhibits sweet, slightly herbal, black cherry and currant aromas and flavors with hints of licorice, new saddle leather, and grilled meats. Medium-bodied and dense, with nicely integrated acidity as well as tannin, it will benefit from 1-2 years of cellaring, and will keep for a decade or more.
