The 1988 Crozes-Hermitage is a dark garnet-colored wine with an extremely fragrant bouquet that suggests aromas of black raspberries, Provencal herbs, and spicy, toasty oak. In the mouth this is a solidly built, muscular, rich, concentrated wine that has plenty of soft tannins, crisp acidity, and grip and length. Anticipated maturity: now-2005. Last tasted 6/95.
