A strong showing for Togni's Cabernet Sauvignon, the youthful, unevolved 1985 is undoubtedly one of the top wines of the vintage. The opaque plum/purple color is followed by a huge, fragrant nose of cedar, smoke, and jammy blackberry and currant fruit. With superb concentration, admirable underlying acidity, and moderate tannin, this intense, mouthfilling, youthful, forceful wine is capable of evolving for another 10-20 years. Although approachable, 2-3 more years of cellaring is recommended.
