Only one Chateauneuf-du-Pape was produced by the Boiron family in this difficult vintage, so the 2008 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée Tradition includes the fruit that normally would have gone into the top cuvées. Although I wouldn't suggest holding it much/any longer, it's still a tasty drop, with meaty and savory notes, silky cherry fruit and a supple, easy-drinking nature. It surprised me with how well it has held up.
