The 1993 Chateauneuf du Pape reveals a dark ruby color with some garnet at the rim. The wine possesses moderately high tannin, plenty of grip and structure, as well as good ripeness and richness. It is an excellent Chateauneuf du Pape that should evolve nicely over the next 2-3 years and remain drinkable for a decade after its release. I have a slight reservation about the tannin, but Le Bosquet des Papes' track record has been exemplary for producing well-balanced, ageworthy Chateauneuf du Pape. Anticipated maturity: 1998-2008. Last tasted 7/96.
