The 1997 Syrah Hillside Estate Bien Nacido Vineyard is the most concentrated Syrah in this estate's portfolio. It boasts an opaque ruby/purple color, as well as thick, juicy fruit, full body, adequate acidity and tannin, and a powerful, gutsy, earthy finish. Unquestionably the most complete wine among the current offerings, this impressively-endowed Syrah should hit its stride with 2-3 years of bottle age, and last for 10-15.
