The 2004 Reserva, from a single vineyard, is a sexy and utterly charming wine. It is 15% Touriga Franca. The rest is an old vines field blend. After significant aeration, it still showed a sappy mid-palate, and a lovely pungent nose. It has velvety texture and refined tannins. Its balance is excellent, and it shows good concentration. While the tannins are refined, they assert themselves with some air, providing welcome support and intensity. The finish is lingering and flavorful. Well structured, tasty and well balanced, this also sports (at least with aeration) wide open fruit that is a pleasure to taste. It will be early maturing, I suspect, but it should hold well and age gracefully. Drink 2008-2016.Importer: Europvin, New York, NY; tel. (212) 243-1236
