The 1995 Chateauneuf du Pape appears to be even better than the 1994, with sweeter fruit, more body, and a longer finish. It possesses a healthy dark ruby color with purple nuances, excellent extract, good fruit, an expansive, chewy texture, full body, serious depth, and a long, spicy, peppery, rich finish with significant alcohol and glycerin. It should drink well young, and keep for a dozen or more years. This wine was tasted between June 1 and June 16, 1996.I had never before tasted the wines of Mas de Boislauzen, made by Monique and Daniel Chaussy in Orange, the ancient Roman village just north of Chateauneuf du Pape. The 1994 and 1995 were impressive offerings.
