The 1994 Chateauneuf du Pape exhibits a healthy dark ruby/garnet color, followed by a rich, chocolatey, cherry, and herb-scented nose, and powerful, medium to full-bodied flavors, with fine ripeness, density, and structure. This wine should improve with 1-2 years of cellaring, and keep for 10-12 years. This wine was tasted between June 1 and June 16, 1996.I had never before tasted the wines of Mas de Boislauzen, made by Monique and Daniel Chaussy in Orange, the ancient Roman village just north of Chateauneuf du Pape. The 1994 and 1995 were impressive offerings.
