The 2013 Barolo Gattera takes a few moments to open and will undoubtedly benefit from more years of bottle aging. It needs to flesh out further and gain in volume. Already at this young stage, the wine reveals a tight and compact flavor profile with dark fruit, spice, tar and balsam herb. The mouthfeel is compact and firm, but it's already evolving to show a fuller and softer personality.

Cherry and plum flavors are wrapped in spicy oak here, with accents of tobacco and tar. Bright and polished, showing a sense of refinement and fine length. Best from 2021 through 2035. 500 cases made.??–BS??Region: Italy / Piedmont / Barolo Select to Add
