Owned by the late Catherine Pere-Verge (who made major improvements at Montviel during her lifetime), this 2011 exhibits more fruit, acidity and richness as well as a burgeoning complexity than previous examples. Medium-bodied with lots of red and black fruits, and a clean, pure finish, the 2011 can be consumed over the next decade.

Another estate owned by Madame Pere-Verge, Montviel’s 2011 is somewhat austere and lean, with moderate tannin, good black cherry and black currant fruit, and a mid-weight style. Drink it over the next decade.

Medium to full-bodied wine with attractive texture and ripe, savoury fruit. Does well in the context of the vintage. Drink 2017-2024. (16 points)
