Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2018 Montviel opens with pure black fruit scents of ripe, juicy black plums, fresh blackberries and mulberries with touches of tar, mossy tree bark and tilled soil. The full-bodied palate (15% alcohol) is jam-packed with straightforward black fruit preserves, supported by ripe, rounded tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with good length.
