Corino's 1997 Barolo Rocche, a larger cru west of Giachini, exhibits a deep garnet color in addition to a hedonistic, explosive nose of soy, resin, black cherry liqueur, balsam wood, leather, olives, and roasted meats. Stunningly concentrated, fleshy, and flamboyant, with huge glycerin levels in its low acid, full-bodied personality, it is impossible to resist, yet promises to age for 12-15 years.
