Fashioned from fruit hailing from the Le Meix Sous le Chateau, the 2001 Meursault was crafted from purchased must. Loads of tropical fruits, mostly mango and pineapple, emanate from this offering's aromatics. Light to medium-bodied and satin-textured, it is a highly expressive wine with complex flavors of minerals, passion fruit, orange marmalade, and pears. This supple, suave, lengthy Meursault should be drunk over the next 3-4 years. Various American importers.

Perfume, flowers, and hazelnuts can be discerned in the aromatics of the 1999 Meursault. This big, broad, medium-bodied wine had just been bottled when it was tasted and was somewhat tight as a result.
