Giuliano Corino's 2008 Barolo is a gorgeous, fleshy wine graced with layers of dark red fruit, flowers, violets and mint. The 2007 Barolo is a fabulous entry-level wine laced with dark red fruit, smoke and anise, all of which come together nicely in the glass. It possesses outstanding concentration and depth in an utterly engaging, up-front style. The round, textured finish makes it hard to resist a second taste. The wines capture the ripe, open style of the vintage while preserving considerable freshness, aromatic complexity and structure.
