The village red from Elciego 2019 Crianza is harmonious, elegant and tasty. It's complex and balanced, with good ripeness but no excess and an approachable and velvety mouthfeel. It matured in French oak barrels for 12 months. 60,000 bottles produced.

The 2018 Crianza feels young and tender, a little creamy after a very recent bottling but with the stuffing and balance to come into its own with a little more time in bottle. It's a clean Crianza that combines classical (texture) and more modern characteristics (bright fruit and juicy ripe tannins) matured in French and American oak barrels for 15 months. 70,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in September 2020.

The inky dark 2017 Crianza, from a low-yielding year due to terrible frosts, is juicy, concentrated and lush, with notes of black fruit. It has integrated oak, and the tannins are round. This is a powerful and lively Crianza that matured in French and American oak barrels for 18 months. 50,000 bottles produced.

The 2015 Crianza is pure Tempranillo from their vineyards in Elciego, fermented in concrete vats with a long maceration and aged in French and American oak barrels for 15 months. The word that I think best defines this Crianza is honest. It's clean, subtle, elegant and nicely nuanced. It has very good fruit and fine-grained tannins. Delicious. Truly impressive. 80,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in August 2017.

The 2014 Crianza is the winery's flagship wine with 80,000 bottles out of a grand total of around 120,000. It's pure Tempranillo fermented in cement and matured in French and American oak barrels for one year, which combines modern and classic characteristics in a nice way. It has some lactic notes, plenty of sweet spices and ripe berries without excess, fresh and clean. The palate is juicy and chewy, with nice fruit and good focus. Very good value. It defies the bad press the vintage might have.
