The 2011 Crianza has notes of smoked bacon, ripe red and black berries and a texture and overall profile that remind me of a modern, clean Northern Rhone Syrah. This uncomplicated wine is very drinkable and gives immediate pleasure. It’s a little hard to identify as Rioja, but it’s a pleasurable wine at a very attractive price. Drink 2014-2016.
