Perhaps it is too soon to see noticeable improvements under the new ownership of the Louis Roederer firm, but tasting through this wine portfolio was not much fun. The whites are all relatively monolithic. Delas Freres's regular cuvee of 1996 Condrieu is a straightforward, medium-bodied, fragrant, somewhat one-dimensional but attractive wine with peach and honey-like scents and flavors. It is meant to be drunk over the next several years. Importer: Pressoir Deutz Winery Inc., Arroyo Grande, CA; tel. ??????
