The 2009 Solpost is a blend of 50% Garnacha, 35% Carinena and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon from terraced, 28-year-old vines from Mas Sant Rafel. It is aged for 12 months in both American and French oak. It has a tightly knit, clay-imbued bouquet with muffled red berries, damp earth and undergrowth notes. The palate has a soft entry, but those firm tannins come to prominence towards its rather broody, introspective finish of blackberry, undergrowth and soy. I would cellar this away because it certainly has the substance to age. Drink 2015-2020.
