The 2009 Roquers de Porrera comes from 7 hectares of 70- to 100-year-old Garnacha and Carinena that were once used as a source for Vall Llach and Cims de Porrera, augmented with Cabernet and Merlot. It has a very rich, decadent bouquet with macerated dark cherries and creme de cassis laced with black tea and white pepper. The full-bodied palate diplays thick, chewy tannins and a firm grip. It has very good density, with ripe toasty dark fruit laced with thyme and white pepper, although the finish will need time to mellow. Drink 2014-2022.
