The 2015 Bradisismo is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Carmenère, a grape that is slowly on the uptick in terms of production, especially in the Veneto region. This is a bold and powerful red wine with a medium to full-weight approach, all enhanced by dense aromas of ripe plum, blackberry and dried cherry. The wine ferments for 12 days in conical tanks and is aged in oak for up to 15 months, with partial new oak. Pair this hearty Veneto red with some sort of braised or stewed meat. Production is 26,000 bottles strong.

A 70-30 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere, the 2011 Bradisismo is a dark and well-constructed wine that puts most of its emphasis on depth and concentration. The appearance is dark and velvety. The bouquet is deeply redolent of prune, spice, tobacco and a touch of bitter chocolate. The warm vintage conditions have played a role in making those aromas standout in a more evident fashion. In the mouth, the wine is supple and full bodied. You do feel the 14.5% alcoholic heat on the close.

The 2007 Bradisismo (Cabernet Sauvignon/Carmenere) flows across the palate with radiant fruit and an open, engaging personality. Fine, silky tannins provide the backdrop as this expressive, tasty red opens up in the glass. Dark raspberries, flowers, tar, chocolate, licorice and French oak inform the close. There is a bit of astringency on the finish that may be the result of too much oak or overly toasted barrels given the wine’s mid-weight structure. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2017. Beautiful fruit, juicy and fresh, red cherry fruit. The palate is fresh and balanced with plenty of pure red fruit charcaters, good length.

The 2006 IGT Bradisismo presents an intriguing array of dark red fruit, grilled herbs and French oak, all of which come together in a mid-weight, Medoc-like style. This is quite pretty, although the tannins dry out just a touch on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2016. Inama is one of Veneto’s premier producers.
