Argillae’s 2011 Grechetto impresses for its vibrant fruit and sheer personality. Sweet, floral-infused white peaches and crushed rocks seem to jump from the glass in this beautiful, delineated Umbrian white. All the elements are in place for the 2011 to drink well for the next few years. I very much like the sense of energy and salinity here. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2015. The estate’s 2009 Grechetto is crisp and refreshing in its white stone fruit, flowers, earthiness and minerals. Texturally gorgeous and elegant, Argillae’s Grechetto impresses for its fine balance and polished personality. It is a terrific effort. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2013.
