The 2001 Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvee Prestige reveals a subtle note of smoky oak as well as a creamy texture and admirable opulence, power, and density. There is undoubtedly a high percentage of Roussanne in the blend. It nearly rivals the appellation's great whites made by Beaucastel and Grand Veneur. This is certainly the finest dry white Janasse has produced. Drink it over the next 4-5 years.
