A beautiful traditional cuvee, the 2012 Chateauneuf du Pape (60% Grenache, 15% each of Syrah and Mourvedre and 10% Cinsault) exhibits notes of toasted spices, mulled red and black fruits, ground pepper and underbrush. It’s medium to full-bodied, textured and sweetly fruited. While I don’t think it will make old bones, it will dish out plenty of pleasure over the coming 4-6 years.
