Renato Ratti’s 2001 Barolo Marcenasco Rocche presents a typical expression of this La Morra site in its perfumed red fruit, spices and flowers. The tannins remain silky and polished throughout. Tobacco, truffles, autumn leaves and crushed flowers are some of the nuances that develop on the finish. This mid-weight Barolo is best enjoyed over the next few years, before the fruit dries out too much further. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019.
