The 2004 Sfursat is a delicate, feminine wine with notes of flowers, spices, menthol, herbs and sweet red fruit. It offers excellent length and refined tannins, although its personality remains somewhat clenched. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2014. Nino Negri is another of Valtellina’s historic wineries although today it is part of the Gruppo Italiani Vini, which owns properties across the country. The estate’s top wine is the Sforzato 5 Stelle. Interestingly, the Negri wines showed best in narrow-shaped glasses which helped focus the wines’ aromatics and also gave the fruit more volume as well as sweetness.
