Marchesi di Barolo performs well in the challenging 2018 vintage. The 2018 Barolo Coste di Rose is lifted and bright with a defined floral signature with an element of crushed rose and dried lavender bud. The wine continues its elevated or vertical personality with bright cherry and licorice root. The presentation is simple but not monotone. In fact, it reveals a pretty filigree of fruit subtly lingering below the surface. Production is 7,000 bottles, and we should see this wine hit the market in 2023.
