The 1999 Cherry Red, a blend of 53% Zinfandel, 21% Syrah, 18% Mourvedre, and 8% Grenache, was aged in equal parts American and French oak, of which 40% was new. It is a dark ruby/purple-colored, fat, juicy, peppery, spicy effort with sumptuous aromatics, gorgeous fruit, and a boatload of character. Already delicious, it will drink well for 4-5 years. Tel.
