The 2013 Dundee Hills Pinot Noir was picked between September 11 and 20, and is matured in 31% new French oak. It has a "strident" bouquet with black cherries, cranberry, briary and just a touch of damp undergrowth. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe tannin, well-judged acidity, tart red cherry fruit mixed with subtle iron and forest floor scents. It pulls up a little short, but otherwise this is a fine entry level Pinot Noir.
