The 2000 Roussanne/Viognier sees some barriques, yet is all fruit declassified from their holdings in Costieres de Nimes. This sumptuous, quasi-Condrieu look-alike offers notes of rose petals, orange marmalade, apricot liqueur, and assorted white flowers. It reveals superb ripeness, good underlying acidity, and a fleshy, fruity feel. Wood notes are detectable in neither the aromas nor flavors. Drink it over the next year to take advantage of its exuberance, purity, and up-front fruit. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
