This is one of my favorite value-priced producers. Twenty percent of Mas des Bressades’ 2003 Roussanne/Viognier (equal parts of each) was aged in wood, and 80% in tank prior to blending. It is an exotic, light gold-colored effort displaying a flamboyant nose of ripe (nearly over-ripe) peaches and apricots intermixed with notions of lychee nuts. Medium to full-bodied and unctuously-textured, this is a thick, juicy, powerful, fat white that only lacks a bit of freshness. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel. (202) 832-9083
