The 2011 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru has a lifted vivacious bouquet with small, dark cherries and raspberry fruit bolstered by the 80% new oak and the 30% whole-cluster fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with a crisp, refined entry. There is wonderful purity here and it builds in the mouth towards a succulent, well-defined finish adorned with subtle peppery notes on the aftertaste. This is very fine. Drink 2015-2028.
