The 2012 Tinto is revisited for a quick look this issue as a preview look was published only as seen in Portugal. A blend of a 25% each of Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca with 15% Tinta Roriz, 15% of a variety of other grapes (like Tinta Amarela, Tinta Barroca, etc.), it also has 20% old vines field blend (70+ years old) blended in. About 70% of the final blend was aged for 14 months in tank, with the rest aged in third and fourth use French barriques for 16 months. Right in line with what I originally saw, this is fresh and harmonious, with a bright and friendly feel, but not a lot of concentration. This may not last so long at peak and it lacks the mid-palate concentration to reward long aging, but at the moment, it is simply a pleasure to drink. Today, I have to lean up on it.
