The feeble looking 1993 Barolo Rocche possesses a light ruby color, with plenty of amber at the edge. (The color could be mistaken for a 20-year old Barolo.) The nose offers up good quantities of tar, rose petals, and cherry fruit intertwined with cedar, tobacco, and spice. The wine is dry, medium-bodied, and tannic, but is clearly meant to be drunk over the next several years before more fruit fades.
