This wine possesses an opaque purple color, followed by viscous, splendidly rich, blackberry and kirsch liqueur-like flavors. This is a dazzling example of what can be achieved in such less prestigious Cotes du Rhone appellations as Cairanne. A blend of 45% Mourvedre, 45% Syrah, and 10% Grenache, and given some barrel treatment, this explosively rich, full-bodied, blockbuster Cotes du Rhone can be drunk now, or cellared for a decade. Wow!
