Spice, clove, black pepper and rhubarb make up the aromas, while the flavors are sharp and lean. There’s a piercing red-fruit quality to the palate that isn’t overly generous. The finish, meanwhile, is fresh and mildly fruity, but again it’s underwhelming. Overall this wine is rather thin, sharp and angular. —M.S.——M.S.(12/31/2002)—— 83
