A very different style for this blend – I love this wine. The 2009 Kevin John Chardonnay was 100% barrel fermented and aged for 9 months in new and 1 year old French barriques. The nose is youthfully mute, revealing delicate to moderately pronounced notes of cashews, yeast extract, clover honey on toast and crushed stones over white peaches and spiced apple slices. Medium bodied, satiny and with a good backbone of crisp acidity, the palate offers layers of stone fruit and savory flavors, finishing long and minerally. Drink it 2013 to 2019+.
Vanya Cullen’s new releases continue to be a celebration of her soils. Uncompromisingly offering a tight collection of age-worthy wines from well established vines, Cullen’s wines are must-haves for anyone who values elegance and terroir expression. All of these wines come from estate vineyards that have been certified Biodynamic since 2004/5.
