The 2007 Vall del Calas is a blend of 60% Merlot, 35% Garnacha, and 5% Tempranillo aged for 11 months in seasoned French oak. Deep crimson-colored, it sports a nose of wood smoke, spice box, black cherry, and black currant. Ripe and layered on the palate, it supplies plenty of succulent, spicy fruit, ripe tannin, and excellent length. It will be at its best from 2011 to 2019.
