The 2005 Syrah The Pixie was sourced from the Kiona Vineyard in the Red Mountain AVA and aged in seasoned oak. Purple-colored, it reveals aromas of game, tar, blue and black fruits. Broad-shouldered and structured, this powerful Syrah will evolve for another 3-4 years and drink well through 2020. If it fully blossoms, my score will appear to be conservative.
Chris Gorman, whose first commercial vintage was 2002, currently produces 1600 cases out of a Woodinville warehouse. He is a colleague of Mark Ryan McNeilly and a similar philosophy seems to be reflected in the wines.
