Clear, fresh and mineral on the limey nose, the 2013 Brauneberger Juffer Riesling trocken GG is a quite rich and powerful, but also complex and still elegant Riesling Grosses Gew?chs, revealing a juicy texture and a salty aftertaste. The Juffer GG is the leaner and more mineral-scented character compared to the Juffer Sonnenuhr. The wine was kept on the lees until July and shows more depth and finesse now than in August last year, when I tasted it for the first time at the VDP Grosses Gew?chs tasting in Wiesbaden.
