The golden-amber colored 2009 Erdener Treppchen Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese (Gold Capsule) is coolish, precise and slatey on the complex and exciting nose where the ripe and stewed apricot aromas are perfectly intertwined with the flinty terroir notes. Rich and intense on the textured and crystalline palate, this Treppchen TBA from ungrafted vines on single poles is highly elegant, refined and balanced, with a piquant and crystalline finish. Provided with concise acidity, this is a fabulous wine that needs at least another decade to be ready to be served. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.
