The orange-amber colored 2005 Erdener Treppchen Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese (Gold Capsule) opens with a beautifully clear, fresh and elegant bouquet with precise and concentrated stone fruit aromas as well as flinty notes of broken slate, wholemeal bread, porcini and sirup. Perfectly round and seamless on the palate, this is a fantastically precise, piquant, salty and even stimulating TBA whose concentrated and sweet fruit core is lifted by this extraordinarily fine and vital acidity that carries the wine to a lean and highly elegant finish. A fabulous wine picked at 240° Oechsle with perfect botrytis berries, this fermented up to 6% alcohol with more than 400 grams of residual sugar. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.
