Picked with around 230° Oechsle, the golden-amber colored 2006 Erdener Treppchen Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese (Gold Capsule) opens with an intense and concentrated yet coolish, precise and flinty bouquet of ripe and stewed peaches, tropical stone fruits, sirup, tea pot and crushed stones intertwined with herbal, slatey and cereal notes. Intense and perfectly balanced on the palate, this is also a highly delicate, filigreed, finessed, even fresh and aromatic TBA with a seamless texture and stimulating flow thanks to very fine tannins and playful but ripe and elegant acidity that gives a stimulating finish. A gorgeous wine. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.
