The estate’s 2004 Chianti Classico Riserva Le Baroncole is a superb example of this fine vintage. It displays awesome purity as well as delineation in its aromatics and layered fruit. With air, heady notes of macerated cherries and sweet toasted oak emerge from the glass of this seductive Chianti. Still quite fresh and vibrant, it will require another few years of bottle age to integrate its oak and fully come together, but its potential is amply evident even at this early stage. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2018.
