The estate’s 2003 Chianti Classico Riserva Le Baroncole is a bigger, more powerful wine than the 2004. Fat and ample on the palate, it presents generous super-ripe black cherries, menthol and licorice, with outstanding length on the palate and a final note of sweetness. Only the slightly hard tannins keep the score from going higher. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2018.
