There are only a handful of cellars that produce a range of wines as riveting as those of Leonard and Olivier Humbrecht. In fact, I would rank Zind-Humbrecht's performance in 1989 and 1990 with the most memorable I have ever witnessed. Anyone traveling to Europe should make a special effort to visit and taste in these cellars. The 1990 Pinot Blanc is a superb rival to the glorious 1989. Amazingly concentrated, with an exotic orange and apple blossom fragrance, rich, gorgeously poised and refreshing flavors, this medium-bodied Pinot Blanc is about as delicious a Pinot as one is likely to find from Alsace.
