Vietti's 1988s are classic wines from this traditional Piedmontese winemaker. Both are big, forceful, tannic wines that are meant to be cellared. Similarly styled to the Barolo-Rocche, the 1988 Barolo-Brunate is broodingly backward, tannic, dense, full-bodied, and loaded with extract. It will need another 5-6 years in the cellar. Anticipated maturity: 1998-2012 .
