A wine that was launched previously (in 2014) but was kept in the winery and disgorged later, the 2008 Original 1887 Brut Nature was re-released into the market with almost four years of additional time in bottle with the lees. This has an amazing nose with notes of star anise, curry and nuts, which gives it a Jura-like twist that I love. 2008 was a completely different year, much cooler and rainier, and the wine is fresh and less advanced than the 2011 I tasted next to it. The palate is vibrant and has pungent flavors, small bubbles, very good balance and very integrated. It should continue developing in bottle. They kept 1,887 bottles of this, which can be distinguished from the earlier bottles by the disgorgement date.
